“Huge amount of useful sounds here, with lots of variations! From the hits, scrapes, and metallic ring-outs of melee weapons like swords and blades, to the rattle and impacts of shields and chains — everything feels punchy and ready to use.

There are also some unexpected — but very welcome — additions like whip cracks, arrow impacts and whistles, gore sounds, body falls… even whooshes and swing sounds that could easily be repurposed to design punches or other impacts in fight scenes.”

“This is one of the highest quality sound packs on the market in terms of metallic weapon sounds. It has a good amount of stuff from whooshes to metallic sliding sounds, to impacts and gore sounds.

The contents in UE is sorted by many different categories and folders. While it is very organized and named very well, maybe it might be TOO organized? Lots of folders to sift through I think some could be combined but just my personal opinion. Once you get the file names down you can easily just search the proper keyword and find what you want.

Overall it’s a great pack and you can easily have all you need in here for melee combat sounds.”

“My immediate reaction is to compare this with the Soundmorph pack, ‘Mechanism’. That’s 100 bucks, and is used by major film studios. So 80 bucks, is definitely reaching into that sort of price bracket. The library has a very similar feel to it, both in assortment and quality.”

I cannot recommend this sound pack enough!

As a quick disclaimer: I was fortunate enough to have received this asset for free from the developer, however after testing all of the sounds out, I can safely say that I would have been just as pleased if I had paid full price for it!

Each of the 11 monsters included in this sound pack depict a different, unique monster, and that was crucial for my game. The different actions per monster include attacking, breathing, calling, growling, roaring and feeding, and the tonnes of sound effects per action allow you to alternate randomly between them for a nice variety.

With regards to the bonus content, I’ll definitely be using the the 28 large monster roars and other sound effects for my boss fights! The medieval tracks were also a pleasant surprise! 🙂

All in all an amazing pack you should definitely consider purchasing if you’re in need of high quality sound effects for monsters in your game!

EDIT: I’d like this review to be as honest as possible, and so, after spending a long time with all the sound effects, there are some issues I have: – Some monsters don’t have all the actions included (roar as an example), and this was a problem for my game. – I found that the breathing sound effects weren’t that great. I’ve instead combined certain breathing sounds and calls to make an “Ambient” folder of sound effects (much like how cows “moo” or zombies “groan”).“
